Noted as ‘One to watch in 2016’ by Newsoundwales, Siobhan McCrudden’s voice has been described as “fragile, pure and hugely distinctive”. Having played in both Britain and the US Siobhan’s folk noir songwriting draws on those experiences, reflecting a vivid fascination with both folk roots and vast melodic landscapes.
Siobhan’s folk noir songwriting draws on her personal experiences, reflecting a vivid fascination with both her folk roots and the inner workings of her poetic mind. The result is a hauntingly nostalgic set of alluring indie folk narratives that defy any one particular genre and hypnotise those who succumb to their beauty.
Her early performances found her on the coffee house circuit of New York where the influence of country and folk embedded itself in her song writing style. From these beginnings Siobhan went on to play larger gigs both in America and at home, performing at festivals and folk clubs alike. She has had radio play of her songs both locally on Cardiff Radio and on BBC Wales through BBC Introducing's Adam Walton.
Siobhan McCrudden will be releasing her debut album ‘Icarus Girl’ in Autumn 2018 on hungersleep records. The album is produced by artrock musician and producer GRICE. Grice has been producing the album in the studio sonically sculpting and adding his distinctive cocktail of tasteful instrumentation, guitars and vocals with a dash of intoxicating soundscape to help present a melancholic, sometimes dark but always intriguing world of sound.
The album is currenlty being recorded at Sound Gallery Studios.
